Huey Miller is just an average building maintenance worker, servicing one of the hundreds of skyscraper ‘Strutts’ doting the Neo-Chicago cityscape, each with 2,000 apartments in total, housing approximately 8,000 individuals per building. With about 127 Strutts in Chicago and over 6,000 other Strutt maintenance men, Huey feels as though nothing he does or enjoys has any meaning, and that the everyday-growing-crueler world is going to breeze past him in a moments notice.
Enter Allebasi, an enigmatic stranger Huey meets one night out on his building floor’s patio. Allebasi also sees a world devoid of passion or meaning, but unlike Huey, possesses the tools needed to make the change she wants to see.
With a long-abandoned AI slumbering deep below Chicago, some inexplicable powers to harness the body’s electricity, and a government coverup stirring, the lines we draw between mortality, consciousness, and life itself begin to fade away.
